August 9, 2012–With the PGA Championship being played on a Pete Dye golf course this week, it got us to thinking about the three Pete Dye golf courses in Las Vegas. They are located at the Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort, and they offer some of the best deals and conditions in Las Vegas Golf Region. Especially at this time when many courses are undergoing overseeding, where the courses are closed. The Dye courses at Paiute don't overseed and are always green. —By Brian Hurlburt
The Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort is located outside of Las Vegas and at a higher elevation, therefore the three Dye courses don't need to be overseeded. This is a huge advantage at this time of year. The three Las Vegas golf courses at Paiute are Snow Mountain, Sun Mountain, and The Wolf.
All three of these Vegas golf courses are very good, but our personal favorite is Snow Mountain. But picking a favorite is like answering the question, "so which of your children is your favorite?" Again, click now for all of the best rates and tee times information for the Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort.
Here is the official description of Snow Mountain via LVPaiuteGolf.com: "Storms in at 7,164 total yards … Best Par 3s on the property. The original course (and a true golfer’s favorite) has wide rye grass fairways, seven holes with water, traditional Dye railroad-tie bunkers, dog-leg finishing holes, and a progressive layout. Do you like risk? Or, do you go for reward? Then you’ll love the challenge waiting for you in finishing holes 16, 17, 18."
There is plenty of typical Dye flair and fanfare at the Paiute, but many would say a kinder, gentler Dye is prevalant at the Paiute Resort. One of the many neat things about golf at Paiute is that there are no houses or structures of any kind on any of the fairways of these courses. The only building is the beautiful clubhouse located in the heart of the property. The views and setting of the clubhouse is absolutely stunning.
