Scott Piercy win

Las Vegas, Nevada (August 21, 2012)–Ryan Moore and Scott Piercy are both PGA Tour champions, and each live in the Las Vegas Golf Region. And they are both sponsored by Shift4 and involved with Birdies4Shriners, an effort that raises funds for the Shriners Hospitals for Children when either makes a birdie or eagle. As of the last count, more than $48,000 had been raised and the two had combined for nearly 600 birdes. Click now to sign up and sponsor either Piercy or Moore–or both– in Birdies4Shriners. Good news is that both made the FedEx Cup playoffs. –By Brian Hurlburt

“I’m excited to be working with Shift4 and the Oder family,” Piercy said when he joined the company and campaign earlier this season. “They’ve got a great organization and use their resources to help a lot of people. I’m particularly excited to get involved with their Birdies4Shriners charity fundraiser – what a great initiative to help Shriners Hospitals for Children.” Dave and Katherine Oder are the founders of Shift4, a Las Vegas-based payment solutions provider. The public can sponsor each birdie or eagle, and Shift4 also donates per under par score.

Piercy won the 2011 Reno-Tahoe Open and earlier this year earned the title at the Canadian Open. This week he sets his sights on the first round of the FedEx Cup Playoffs with the playing of The Barclays at Bethpage Black. Piercy enters the Playoffs 15th in the points standings and with a legitimate shot at the overall title. Moore was ranked 64th heading into the first round.

By securing spots in the FedEx Cup Playoffs, Moore and Piercy added more opportunities for birdies, eagles and aces. They need to play well to continue to the next event, but the prospects for more charitable dollars are good. The Birdies4Shriners is another way that Shift4 and the Las Vegas PGA Tour pros are involved in the community.

All are in full support of the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open, Las Vegas' PGA Tour event. Shift4 has become a large sponsor of the tournament and in addition to the Birdies campaign is also using the PGA Tour event as a platform to extend their brand while recognizing local heroes.
