Rio Secco Golf Club, the home site of the Harmon Vegas School, was designed by the legendary Rees "U.S. Open Doctor" Jones, and is one of the finest courses in the West. The course plays through dramatic canyons, over plateaus, and offers beautiful views of the Las Vegas Valley. The course is the host site for the made-for-TV Wendy's 3-Tour Challenge (The PGA Tour vs. The LPGA Tour vs. The Champions Tour) and events surrounding Tiger Jam, the annual fundraiser for the Tiger Woods Foundation. The Million Dollar Hole-In-One is also a highlight of Rio Secco as are the T-Mates female caddies. Click now for the official Rio Secco website for the course photo gallery.
In 2012, Harmon was again recognized as the top golf teacher in the world in a poll of his peers conducted by Golf Digest. Harmon has earned the top spot for the last decade. But his staff of professionals are also at the top of their profession. Here is a recap of the staff pros who are a part of Team Harmon:
Don Callahan — A high-level teacher with more than 50 years of experience who helps golfers of all ages shoot lower scores. The former head pro at Brookline loves teaching, and some proof he is great at what he does is the 58 recently shot by student Evan Brien.
Nick Helwig — Nick has been a part of Team Harmon since 2000 and has worked as a coach and caddie on the LPGA Tour. He is also a certified Titleist Performance Institute Pro.
Vic Wilk — Vic has played the game at the highest levels including the PGA Tour and what was then referred to as the Nike Tour, where he won the Knoxville Open in 1996. But he also teaches the game at the highest levels working with students such as Las Vegas Golf Hall of Famer Brady Exber and several PGA Tour and LPGA Tour pros.
Also, three top-level independent pros work with Team Harmon including Greg LaBelle, Matt Kilgariff, and Shawn Callahan.
Labelle has worked with Corey Pavin and LPGA Tour winner Kim Saiki, and is dedicated to a top-level junior program. He is a Titleist Certified Professional.
