Las Vegas, Nevada (March 6, 2014)–Wolf Creek Golf Club in Mesquite, Nevada, is a top 100 course that golfers typically rave about. It's a fantasy course come to life. But recently issues with the putting greens caused ownership and management to close the course. Wolf Creek Golf Club will re-open with special rates and other surprises on March 13 and will be back to the quality conditions golfers have come to expect from the course that Wall St. Journal–Europe once named one of the top 10 best golf experiences in the world. Golfers can also get a glimpse of what's in store at a special meet and greet on March 12 from noon – 4 PM with refreshments and drinks and a $150 rate will be available through March 2014. — By Brian Hurlburt
The special rate through March 2014 of $150 per player is down from the normal rates of $175 during the week and $195 on the weekends. Also every golfer who plays Wolf Creek during March 2014 will be entered into a special drawing featuring rounds of golf, Terrace Restaurant gift certificates, and other prizes. Golfers will receive four raffle tickets with each round played while those eating at the restaurant will receive one ticket for breakfast or lunch or two tickets for dinner. The more you eat and play the better your chances of winning. Click to reserve your Mesquite golf tee times at Wolf Creek.
"We had a wonderful year in 2013 and welcomed guests from all over the world who enjoyed their experiences at Wolf Creek, but unfortunately the year ended with some challenges with our greens so we made the decision to close the course to ensure that we would be back to Wolf Creek standards by prime season this spring," says Wolf Creek General Manager Joel Villanos. "We have nearly completed that process and look forward to the re-opening, and to show our appreciation and welcome everyone back we will be offering special rates through March of this year. We want all golfers to come out and see that Wolf Creek is back and in great condition."
Upon re-opening and through the end of March, the greens at Wolf Creek will play a little slower than at the start. It is estimated that the greens will roll at about an eight on the stimpmeter. There will be no temporary greens but some greens will have portions roped off but plenty of green area will be available for the pin placement and approach shots. Overall course conditions will be "excellent" according to Villanos. By the end of March the greens are also expected to be fully recovered and fully accessible.
