Las Vegas, Nevada (April 26, 2014)–The 34th annual Super Bowl of Golf held by the NFL Alumni Association tees off today at Bali Hai Golf Club in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip. Bali Hai is a tropical golf experience and will be the site today where NFL legends such as pro football hall of famers Carl Eller, Raul Allegre, Ottis “O.J.” Anderson, and Ricky Ervins tee it up to raise dollars and awareness for charities that meet the goals of the organization which are "caring for kids" and caring for our own. –By Brian Hurlburt

The event pits the best golf teams from local NFL Alumni Chapters from around the country in an 18 hole golf tournament. The tournament has taken place every year since 1980 and alternates between East and West coast venues. This year marks the 34th annual playing of the tournament. Winners of the tournament receive a ring that emulates an official Super Bowl ring.

Bali Hai Golf Club is a public, resort golf course situated on the south end of the Las Vegas Strip and one of three golf clubs owned and operated by Walters Golf. The course is a par 71 with 7,002 yards of play from the tips, has a 73.0 rating and a 130 slope. The course is known for its proximity to major Las Vegas Hotels, and for replicating a South Pacific ambiance with 1000s of palm trees, white sand and undulating fairways. The NFL Alumni was founded in 1967 with the principle mission of addressing player-welfare issues. The NFL Alumni's Founding Members include: John Panelli, Wayne Millner, Jim Castiglia, Dante Lavelli, Frank Szymanski, Alex Wojciechowicz, Frank "Bruiser" Kinard, Gary Famiglietti, Hank Reese, Gus Cifelli, Augi Lio, Bosh Pritchard, Eddie Michaels, Tony Adamle, Joe Tereshinski, Jim Poole, Ken Strong, Al Babartsky, Johnny "Blood" McNally, Clarence "Pug" Manders, Tony Bova, Joe Gasparella, Vic Carroll, Vince Banonis, Aldo Forte, Bill deCorrevont and Al Demao.

The NFL Alumni also held their annual meeting in Las Vegas. The group met and discussed varying topics including concussions and other health issues. The Cleveland Clinic has been conduction assessments of former players. In other news, Devry University became the official education provider for the Pro Football Legends, the marketing name of the NFL Alumni Association.
