In two of the previous three years, the tournament has had a local champion who plays and practices at TPC Las Vegas. In 2011, Kevin Na became the first Las Vegas resident to win the hometown event and in 2012 Ryan Moore, a former UNLV All-American, made it two-straight wins for locals. Last year, major champion Webb Simpson took home the title and ended the two-year local streak. He is scheduled to defend his championship.
TPC Las Vegas is known as the home to professional golf in Las Vegas because it not only hosted the PGA TOUR event for several years, but it was also the host course of the Las Vegas Senior Classic, a Senior PGA TOUR event. In addition, several pros with strong local ties, like Na and Moore, play and practice at the course when they aren't on Tour. Among the pros who are regulars are Charley Hoffman, Alex Cejka, Bill Lunde, Scott Piercy, Alex Prugh, and several others. Click now for your TPC Las Vegas tee times!
