Las Vegas, Nevada (Sept. 27, 2015)–Anthem Country Club is one of the top private clubs in Las Vegas, and is the home of the powerhouse Coronado High School boys and girls golf teams. Once a year, the membership allows the program to hold a fundraiser. The 12th benefit tournament is to be held Monday, Nov. 9, with all proceeds benefiting both of the teams. The event is $700 per team of four players and includes golf, lunch, prizes and more. Playing in this tournament allows golfers to experience the private Anthem, an opportunity not always available to the general public.
Last season, the girls won the Nevada state title while the boys finished as the runner-ups. Both are expected to challenge for the championships again this season. Overall the boys have won the championship three times plus turned out a high-level of player including current UNLV Men’s golf senior captain AJ McInerney who finished second for the Rebels just this week in an event in New Mexico.
Located 15 minutes from the Las Vegas Strip, Anthem Country Club’s spectacular Hale Irwin – Keith Foster designed par-72, 7267-yard championship golf course features dramatic elevation changes as it traverses breathtaking natural desert terrain, sparkling waterfalls, six lakes and picturesque canyons. Bent grass greens and sweeping panoramic mountain views make the course both playable and stunningly beautiful while five sets of tees on each hole accommodate players of all abilities. The motto of Coronado High School is “Excellence by Design” and that is students strive for that on the court and in the classroom. The boys and girls golf team also strives to do well in the classroom and have had several academic award winners over the years.
Individuals can play for $175 and tee sign sponsorships are available for $200.
