Las Vegas, Nevada (Nov. 19, 2015)–The Sun Mountain course, one of three Pete Dye signature Las Vegas golf courses at the Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort, was listed at the top of the recent GolfAdvisor.com national course power rankings for the week of Nov. 9. Sun Mountain was number one and Brandon Tucker, the editor of the rankings, commented that Paiute courses are a “familiar name in Power Rankings”. –By Brian Hurlburt.
Sun Mountain was the second course built at the resort. The other two courses are Snow Mountain, the original, and The Wolf. The resort is located about 25 minutes from the Las Vegas Strip and offers a beautiful and functional clubhouse and golf courses free of urban sprawl. That was another feature of the Paiute courses noted in Tucker’s article about the power rankings.

“In addition to being a pure golf facility without a residential component, Paiute’s three courses don’t have a transition season in the fall, as they keep rye grass all year round, making it a particularly good bet for Vegas golfers in the fall months as many other facilities grass in rye over their summer Bermuda grass,” wrote Tucker.

Of the last 26 reviews that Sun Mountain has received on the GolfAdvisor.com website, 22 were five out of five stars. One of the most recent reviews was the following: “From the MGM it took us just under 25 min to drive there in the middle of the day on a work day. Not a problem at all and if any of you thought this is far, it is worth it. We played the Sun course and it is in great shape.” The review was from KFed63.
Sun Mountain and the other courses at the Paiute are a perfect setting for corporate events or a great spot for a pre-wedding round. Then the clubhouse offers a perfect backdrop for large events, parties and weddings.
