The Las Vegas Golf Channel Duel in the Desert is so popular that the all three courses are used everyday during the three days of the tournament and no other play is accepted at the resort during the weekend. The event is also annually played on Superbowl weekend but concludes on Saturday to allow competitors to watch the game on Sunday.

From GCAmTour.com: “What makes Duel unique? Unlike other events on the Golf Channel Amateur Tour, this tournament is open to BOTH Golf Channel Am Tour Members and Non-Members and is a two-person team championship!  Now is your chance to experience a 2-person team championship at the beautiful Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort during one of the best times to be in Las Vegas!  The 54-hole, two-person team tournaments consists of a scramble, modified alternate shot and best ball on three of Las Vegas’ finest golf courses – Paiute’s Snow Mountain, Wolf and Sun Mountain.”

The Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort has hosted the event for several years. “We are thrilled to have the Duel in the Desert and The Golf Channel Amateur Tour return here,” GM Chad Gunier has said about the tournament in previous years and the same holds true in 2016. “To be sold out two months in advance shows how much people love our Pete Dye courses and the overall quality of the event. We always welcome golfers from all over the world to the Paiute, and this tournament is an event that we take a lot of pride in hosting and it brings national recognition.”

Recently all three golf courses the Paiute Resort were named to the Top 50 golf courses in America as voted by reviewers of the popular GolfAdvisor.com.
