Las Vegas, Nev. (June 18, 2016)—There are times where people find going to a reunion to be bothersome and, well, boring. That certainly won’t be the case with the 2016 Nevada State Amateur Reunion Invitational golf tournament set for July 8, 2016 at Cascata Golf Club. –By Bill Bowman
While reunions are all about the past (and this one will have its share of stories…true and not-so-true), the golf tournament, along with the camaraderie the past champions will bring to the event, will combine to be an outstanding event at the world-class Rees Jones designed Cascata.
Cascata, a par-72 layout and sister course to Rio Secco Golf Club, stretches to 7,137 yards from the tips and provides an exceptional golf challenge in scenic, secluded surroundings.
“The inaugural Nevada State Amateur Reunion Invitational will provide an opportunity for current players to learn about, meet and acknowledge some of the former Nevada State Am champions while providing a fundraising event that will support both amateur and junior golf in Southern Nevada,” said Eric Dutt who oversees golf operations for Cascata and Rio Secco.
The list of past champions in the event, which includes a 60-year history, is impressive and includes a few players who have gone on to take their games to the PGA Tour: Scott Piercy, Ed Fryatt and Craig Barlow. The 2016 event format will feature a past Nevada State Amateur champion playing alongside three amateurs. Cost is $1,200 per team or $300 per player and includes: the tournament round of golf at Cascata, complimentary range balls, continental breakfast, lunch after the round, tee gifts and drink tickets.
There will be an 8 a.m. shotgun start for the tournament.
Tournament sponsorship opportunities are available and include: breakfast sponsor ($500), lunch sponsor ($500), beverage cart sponsor ($350), closest to the hole sponsor ($250), long drive sponsor ($250) and hole sponsor tee signs ($125).
