LAS VEGAS, Nev. (June 13, 2017)–Golfers are always on the hunt for great deals. They will scour websites, message boards and anywhere else possible to find that perfect price-point. Well, from now until Sept. 10, 2017, the search is over. One of the best deals in Las Vegas is at Las Vegas National where locals can play for as little as $19. The rate is good after 1:30 p.m. and is available seven days a week. Here’s your chance to take you and your buddies out to play a classic, tree-lined masterpiece for about $1 per hole. –By Bill Bowman.
Maybe the best part of playing Las Vegas National is the amount of mature trees around the course that provide shade throughout the round, including in the fairways, on the tee boxes and in certain spots on the greens.
And if you’re an out-of-town player, that cost goes up just $10 to $29 per round weekdays and to $39 on weekends. In a town where everyone’s looking for a bargain, look no further than LV National which is just minutes from the Las Vegas Strip.
“It’s a quieter time of the year and the course is in really good shape,” said Joe Kelly, director of sales and marketing. “We want to entice people to come out and play the course and this is a chance to give back to the locals. It’s just a great value.”
Las Vegas National opened its doors in 1961 when it was known as the Stardust Country Club. At 6,721 yards it’s not the longest course players will take on but it definitely is a challenge. And that’s especially true on the par 3s. There are five of them on the par-71 layout. The shortest is a testy 179 yards from the tips. The longest? A jaw-dropping 233 yards. In all, three of these holes can play 200-plus yards from the tips forcing players to combine accuracy with length at the same time.
Las Vegas National is a history-filled course (check out the Las Vegas Golf Hall of Fame exhibit inside) and with these wallet-friendly rates, you’ve got the perfect golf outing.
“We’re looking to get those players who haven’t been out here in a few years or those who haven’t played the course,” Kelly said. “If we get them once and they have a good, quality experience, they’ll tell someone else. That’s what we are trying to achieve. We have to get them here the first time and this is a great chance to showcase the course.”
