Primm Valley Golf Club
There are two guarantees at Primm Valley Golf Club, the Lakes and Desert Las Vegas golf courses, both designed by Tom Fazio. These Las Vegas golf courses are located on the California/Nevada border (about 35 miles from the Las Vegas Strip). Now operated by Par 4 Golf Management.
There are some reported condition issues here, but work is being done to improve them.
The Lakes course is a lush golf journey played in the middle of the desert with holes and fairways decorated with pine trees, water, flowers and bunkers with typical Fazio flare. Highlights of the Lakes course include the dogleg left, par 5 second hole that plays around water for the entire hole, and the challenging par 3, 12th hole that plays while the beauty of a waterfall flows to the right of the green. “The Lakes is a golf course in the desert, but not a desert golf course,” Fazio himself has said about this gem.
The Desert brings more of the native Nevada and >California desert into play but isn’t as dastardly as most desert golf courses can be. Plenty of fairway width and large greens allow for errant shots to be found and hit again. And some of the desert waste areas have been softened to allow for a chance to recover. Featured holes on the Desert include the par 3, 9th hole, that plays slightly down hill to a green that is shadowed by palm trees and feels hidden from view from any other human. The par 5, 18th hole, called “Primm Perspective” is played in between the desert vegetation to an slightly-elevated green with bunkers guarding it.
