Saving the Best Holes for Last in Las Vegas Golf

Categories: Las Vegas Hot Pick of the Day.

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (January 5, 2017)–We’ve recently shown you some of the best opening holes at Las Vegas golf courses (Bear’s Best, Las Vegas National and Wolf Creek). Now it’s time to show off three of the best closing holes in the Vegas area. These are three holes that can–and will–end your round dramatically. Now, whether that’s with a birdie or par (or one of those dreaded ‘others’) is all up to you and your shotmaking skills. —By Bill Bowman.

A great closing hole will force players to think their way through the entire hole. Do I need to hit driver? Which side of the fairway should I favor? How do I avoid the bunkering or other hazards? And, most importantly, should I go flag-hunting or play for the center of the green?

Click here to reserve Las Vegas tee times at one of these courses to take on these three great closing holes, or to tee it up on one of the many other top Las Vegas golf courses.

Well, it’s your last hole of the day so you better make every one of those choices count.

It’s time to step up to the 18th hole and finish strong.

Best Las Vegas Finishing Holes

Bali Hai Golf Club. This finale at Bali Hai Golf Club is a 486-yard, par 4 that is not only an amazing test of golf shots, it’s also breathtaking. Bali Hai, located on the Las Vegas Strip, is a Schmidt-Curley design and the finale is certainly one to remember. The tee shot must avoid fairway bunkering. The second shot is into a green that is guarded by a huge pond and a beach-like bunker. While it makes for a gorgeous setting, it’s diabolical. Par here is a great way to finish. Put a birdie on the card and your playing partners are buying drinks.

Highland Falls Golf Club. This one proves a great finishing hole doesn’t need to be long to be challenging. At 387 yards from the tips, the par-4 finale at Highland Falls, one of three Golf Summerlin courses design by the duo of Casper/Nash, is just a 3-wood and wedge for many players as it plays downhill. Perfect bunkering and a water hazard on the right side of the green of this dog-leg right hole will test accuracy. The large green also puts a premium on putting skills and aggressiveness with the approach shot.

Siena Golf Club. Another shorter hole (par-4, 400 yards). But Siena Golf Club, another Schmidt-Curley design, has a twist. It’s uphill from tee to green on this dog-leg right hole with bunkering along the right side. Add a pond on the right side of the green and It’s a hole that looks easy but can take its toll on a scorecard. How aggressive do you want to get on this scenic finale?
